I first saw Dr. Becker in May of 2012, about 3 weeks before I was scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy. I was immediately put at ease by his calm demeanor. Dr. Becker explained in detail what he would be doing during this first surgery in order to begin reconstruction of both breasts. Although my mind was reeling with the unbelieveability of the situation, Dr Becker gave me a sense that everything would be ok.
At every surgery and office visit since that first day, the quality of care I have received from Dr. Becker has been outstanding. In this fast paced world, it’s great to have a doctor who slows down, listens and is genuinely concerned with what the patient is feeling. I am just about through the reconstruction process and I am very happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Becker to any person who is in need of plastic or reconstructive surgery. His skill, care and compassion are unsurpassed.Kimberly Whitman

Dr. Becker is amazing.
He made me feel comfortable from the moment he introduced himself. I could not be happier with my breast augmentation. He knew exactly what was best for my body type. My surgery was on a Friday, and the next day he contacted my family member to make sure I was doing okay.
That is a big enough statement on how much Dr. Becker cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone!Leslie S.
Please know you are my hero.
The care and compassion you and your team showed me during my journey of breast cancer, double mastectomy, and reconstruction gave me light in a dark time. That is a gift even greater than the beautiful reconstructive work you do. BTW….the new ‘girls’ rock!!!!! Thank you my friend!Carla O.
Dr. Matthew Becker is great surgeon. I had breast cancer on one side and another surgeon started reconstruction. I got an infection and he removed the implant and started over. He has did a fantastic job fixing the mess up from radiation. I will continue to use him and recommend him to anyone that needs his skills.Shelley H.

Diamonds are not a girls best friend, this man is! I love my Dr. Becker, you exceeded my expectations. Thanks so much!Lisa B.
In 2011 I noticed an abnormal spot on the right side of my nose. After realizing that it wasn’t healing, I scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist (Dr. Miller) who discovered the spot on my nose was skin cancer in the form of basal cell carcinoma. A few weeks later I returned to have the skin cancer removed by means of Mohs Surgery. The skin cancer had spread more than we expected and I was left with a hole through my right nostril about the size of a dime.
I left Dr. Miller’s office and headed to the hospital to see Dr. Becker for reconstructive surgery. I was happy to be cancer free but had doubts that I would ever look normal again. Dr. Becker assured me that he would do whatever it takes to give me the best results and he decided that forehead flap reconstructive surgery would be our best option. I trusted him and said go for it and he did. After the surgery Dr. Becker monitored my progress for several weeks and decided he wanted to do a revision to improve symmetry and breathing.
It’s almost 2 years later and I couldn’t be happier with my results! I’m so thankful that I took Dr. Miller’s advice to use Dr. Becker to reconstruct my nose. Dr. Becker takes great pride in his work and it shows. I would definitely recommend Dr. Becker to anyone needing plastic or reconstructive surgery.Mark W.
Dr.Becker started my reconstruction immediately after my mastectomy. I felt like I never even lost my breast. I even joked with people it was my good one now. Every few weeks I would go for my saline injection and him and his staff where all so very nice. Dr.Becker always made me feel like I was his only patient, listening to any problems I may have had with my cancer. I always recommended him to other patients getting ready to have surgery and will continue to do so.
He is the best at his craft and a great doctor and friend to all.Cindy T.
Active in his community
Dr. Becker enjoys engaging in his community. He is honored to be a Susan G. Komen Knoxville Pink Tie Guy, leads a team and participates in Race for the Cure and Shoot for the Cure, and is a frequent invited speaker at Young Survivors.
Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery
“Meticulous” is a word often associated with Dr. Becker in the operating room. He is a gifted plastic surgeon with expertise in multiple facets of cosmetic, reconstructive and minimally invasive plastic surgery procedures.
When considering cosmetic or reconstructive plastic surgery, it is important to choose a surgeon with a keen aesthetic sense, strong surgical skills, a commitment to patient education, and a heart for providing compassionate care.
Dr. Becker believes the most valuable asset he has to offer is time: time to educate and talk with the patient in order to make sure the goals can and will be met and taking time in the operating room to make sure everything is the absolute best it can be.
